APPLICATION OF POSITION SENSORS
January 11, 2012
Position sensors are used to determine the exact position of the object. It can be angular, rotary or linear. The relation between the objects and their particular environments in either a line, angular of circular direction is usually measured by the different kinds of position sensors. Every sensor is unique to its application in a great variety of situations. Variable differential transformers also known as LDTVs are also one kind of position sensors. Variable differential transformer has a variety of application beneath the earth that is very useful. These types of position sensors are used in the scientific measuring devices to predict the earthquakes and tsunamis.
They have an immense significance for agriculture, travel and industry; they are used in predicting the weather patterns. Usually for the undersea oil leaks and the consequent environmental disasters, the chief executive of oil companies are blamed, but the reason for this could also be the use of linear position sensors. One of the great applications of these types of position sensors is that they monitor the performance and safety of the undersea equipments. Even if one of the position sensors fails to work, then a chain of reaction could occur, resulting in environmental disaster.
