Brother CS6001 Computerized Sewing Machine Review

The Brother CS6001 60-Stitch Computerized Free-Arm Sewing Machine is the sewing machine you have always wanted to have. It is a perfect example of how far sewing machines have come since the treadle machine. It has the convenience of fully computerized sewing, automatic needle threading, push-button sewing, and 60 fun stitches to show your creativity. Two hundred years ago people were unable to purchase carefully-stitched quality clothes until the advent of the mechanical sewing machine. Manufacturers could then start to manufacture a great amount of quality clothes at little cost. Fast forward to 2010, and now we have the computerized Brother machine with seven buttonhole styles, and an LCD screen which displays settings for home use, much to the delight of home sewers. Something that used to be labor-intensive and time-consuming can now be done quickly and easily. There are hundreds of glowing customer reviews for this machine.

The features of this machine are outstanding. You can chose the stitches from an LCD display, and it includes stitches for mending, garment construction, quilting, heirloom stitching, decorative stitching, and seven styles of one-step auto-sizing buttonholes. For example, you can make keyhole or eyelet buttonholes. It also has built-in super-wide 7MM zigzag decorative stitches, a one-step drop in bobbin, and an oversized accessory table for large projects and quilting. It is portable and lightweight, and comes with a cover to protect it when not in use.

The very helpful manual is in both English and Spanish. It has electronic speed control so you can chose the perfect speed for you. One satisfied customer said, “It comes with every foot and accessory you could possibly need.” The quilting feet include a walking foot for accurate stitching of slippery fabrics or multiple layers, as well as a quilt guide for precise, evenly-spaced quilt lines. I didn’t learn to sew until later years, but with this computerized Brother machine I could easily and quickly sew items for my whole home, as well as clothes for myself or my family. I know I can do this for a long time; it has a 25 year limited warranty. The dimensions are 16 x 6.7 x11.4 inches. I can operate it either with or without the foot control, using the start/stop and reverse functions with one button. Accessories are also included for inserting zippers, darning, twin-needle stitching, plus a quick-change snap-on pressure foot that includes a buttonhole foot, a zipper foot, button-fitting foot, blind-stitch foot, overcasting foot, monogramming foot, zig zag foot, walking foot, and a quilt guide. If I want to sew on the kitchen table, it is easy to carry around. I can change the width and length of a stitch easily. The bobbin winds easily, and the machine is easy to thread even for a novice like me. The needle positions are variable, and there is built-in storage space.

The machine has an adjustable dial control for perfect thread tension. It also has a drop feed so you can create traditional or free form quilt patterns. Some of the other sewing machine manufacturers require you to purchase all sorts of extras in order to have a pleasant sewing experience, and this is not true with the Brother. With all its wonderful features, I feel that the Brother CS60001 60-Stitch Computerized Free-Arm Sewing Machine is an incredible value for an affordable price.

With the Brother machine you won’t settle for “so-so” but will achieve “sew-sew”. FREE SHIPPING TODAY! If you would like to learn more about the machine go to

The Best Single Malt Scotch iPhone App on the Market – ScotchHunter Review

The Best Single Malt Scotch iPhone App on the Market – ScotchHunter Review

The Scotch Hunter 2.0 iPhone App has been released and I couldn’t be happier with all of the improvements that they have been able to make. The team over at ScotchHunter.com has had year to pull together all of the feedback and suggestions that people have provided from the original launch of the iphone app back in 2010. With all of the improvements in this new version, you can really tell that they are listening to their users and trying to add features to their app that truly make it something special for single malt scotch enthusiasts like myself.

Let me start off by telling you a little about the company that made this app. ScotchHunter.com is a comprehensive site devoted to finding and tasting the finest single malts. They represent one of the best Single Malt sites online. Providing single malt scotch tasting notes, distillery information, nosing and tasting tips, single malt terms, as well as a detailed listing of their personal favorite single malt whiskys.

Now lets get to my favorite part…the review of their updated iPhone App! Now I’ve tried the other scotch apps on here and all of them lack what Scotch Hunter brings to the table. I just love the interface and the easy to navigate tasting notes. The app allows users to browse the Tasting Notes by ScotchHunter.com, Save your Favorite Scotches, Create a Wish List for use later on, Create your own Tasting Notes from scratch, and even Share those Notes with your friends on the most popular social networks.

Let me quickly point out some of the NEW features that makes this the Best Scotch App in the iTunes App Store:

1.) The ability to add your own pictures to the tasting notes.
When creating a new note from scratch you can now take a picture with your iPhone or use an existing one from your library. You can also size and crop this image.

2.) The opportunity create and save quick audio recordings.
If you are in a hurry, or just like to hear the sound of your own voice, you can now record audio notes along with your tasting note and play them back later.

3.) Now you can purchase bottles of your favorite scotch right from the app!
Find a bottle that you just have to have? No problem, simply click the “Buy Now” button and you will be directed to a page where you can purchase that single malt online right inside the app.

And those points were just a small taste of all of the great new updates within the new ScotchHunter iPhone App. I haven’t even taken time to mention the improved random spinner wheels, new search features, extra large images, and all of the other additions that can be found now within the app!

The ScotchHunter iPhone App is your #1 guide to Single Malt Scotch. If you are a scotch drinker or thinking about becoming one, this app is well worth the money. I hope that you download the ScotchHunter iPhone App and enjoy your next single malt scotch with the knowledge and information that can only be found from the members of ScotchHunter.com

A Review on Same Day Courier Services UK, Same Day Courier Services

Same Day Couriers
by Dog Company

A Review on Same Day Courier Services UK, Same Day Courier Services

For starting a new business, you need to be very careful in planning every step of your business plan. Even this is a fact that all the per-preparations need to be ready at least on papers for setting up a business like a Courier Service. The businessperson develops a catalogue or a list of fees which he/she is going to charge the customers based on some criteria to earn revenue out of his/her business. The Courier Service industry is emerging rapidly; every businessperson thinks of making profit from his/her services for a long-term survival.

The same day courier services in UK, work with complete perseverance for their clients. They make sure that the commodities are delivered on time without causing them any physical damage. The vans and other huge four wheelers make the UK courier services more resourceful. If the parcel is huge enough, you have the option of selecting the vehicle of your choice. In case if the courier service is charging you more for the emergency delivery of goods, they provide you with the free insurance service. On the other hand, many services charge the minimal for same day courier services with or without the free insurance service depending on the weight and type of the package or parcel.

Numerous Courier Services in UK deliver the parcel and other important documents on the same day. However, some of these services charge extra depending on the number of parcel and package. Many aspects are considered for Courier Services. Some of them are listed below:

Market place:

The primary aspect of all is the market situation. The competitors in the same field, their basis of charging the price for neighbouring places and the fees taxed based on kilometres. Some of the Courier Services also have charging system on the mode of transport used. It can be two wheelers or four wheelers. Trucks on the other hand, have the maximum of fees charged. The ruthless competition is seen everywhere. People want the best of services at the most affordable prices. The business executives want revenue on the one hand and customers on the other. Same day courier services is an effortless trade industry, provided the market situation is in favour of the person.

Normal Fees:

The second important feature is the fee charged based on how much is the distance within UK. The price of delivering the goods on the same day is fixed. Even if it is two miles or thirty miles, the rate is already predetermined. Thus, there are many chances of setting the price too high or too low in accordance with the competition with other UK courier services.

Additional Charges:

The supplementary rates mainly include petrol price, travelling time, delivering the goods after the working hours. While delivering different kind of the merchandise, particularly some sort of machinery and apparatus may be required like belts to handle the stock with utmost care. Delivering of goods after six in the evening until six in the morning comes under the category of after working hours. The businessperson earns the maximum in this additional charge category.

Same Day Courier Services UK, Same day Courier Services is a growing business in UK. The business in courier service should be always dominating in the market.

A Review of Army Surplus Kit and Equipment

Army surplus
by happykatie

A Review of Army Surplus Kit and Equipment

Army Surplus covers a wide range of different equipment from clothing to vehicles.

The term Army surplus means exactly what it says army or military surplus equipment purchased by the Ministry of Defence to be used by its employees that has become surplus to requirement or no longer needed. These products include all clothing including boots, Jackets, Trousers, Shirts, and T-shirts etc. Normally these products are sold through a contractual agreement with a company to distribute through out its outlets to other retailers or shops including websites for resale to the public or for business use i.e. for the enactment of military events within the film industry etc

Some Army Surplus is new and not used this is commonly known as super grade or new. Used Army surplus is known as Grade one which is used and but not damaged or worn out in any way. Used Army surplus that has been worn out or damaged in someway is called Grade Two and can normally be purchased very cheaply if not for free. This Grading system is mainly applied to clothing and footwear but can also be applied to tents and other outdoor equipment that has become surplus to requirement by the Ministry of Defence or other government organization across the world. Army Surplus is normally sold through retail outlets in the United Kingdom by camping and outdoor specialists most of these stores have websites and a very comprehensive range can be found for sale.

The larger items of Army Surplus like vehicles, trailers, mobile kitchens etc are mostly sold at auction by specialist auction teams through out the world. A superb example of this was drawn to my attention when attending a tiger and tracks day at R.A.F Duxford where they have purchased several vehicles and either fully restored them or are in the process of restoring them. Nearly all of the exhibits are full of Army Surplus equipment dating back to world war one, they even have a Russian Tank that was in service in Afghanistan. The business of Army Surplus is huge and serves the economy with millions of pounds in turnover each year in the United Kingdom alone. Each year there are several hundred events across Europe that use Army Surplus clothing and equipment, from re-enactments at shows of military history to soft projectile games such as Airsoft or Paintball, with clothing being the most popular choice of purchase. Some Army surplus equipment is highly collectable such as swords helmets and dress uniform and are some times sold for hundreds if not thousands of pounds especially if the product is highly sort after or a one of a kind. Some Army Surplus clothing or equipment is superb for everyday work if you have a need for hard wearing robust products, as all Army Surplus products are made to the highest possible standard at the time of manufacture this is one of the Ministry of Defenses requirements when a product is designed for them, so you are more or less guaranteed a superb piece of kit. So there you Army Surplus equipment is fairly priced priceless equipment and in great need through out the world. Many websites are available that sell a fantastic range of army surplus.

Educational Board Games for Kids – 2010 Review

Board Games for Children
by Wootang01

Educational Board Games for Kids – 2010 Review

This brief review will cover the Top 5 Board Games in Children’s Education for 2010. Each one has received at least one accolade or award from educational institutions and Board Game Associations.

Education Board Games are a standard feature in our house. We usually manage to turn any board game into a fun lesson for our kids. However, not all board games were created equal. Some are better than others.

Here, in no particular order are our reviews of five very popular educational Kids Board Games for 2010. In No particular Order:

1. The Brainbox Game Series

The Brainbox series of board or and games are of UK origin and have been a runaway success. The basic thrust of the Brainbox range is this: Players have 10 seconds to study information on one side of the card before being asked a question from the back which has been chosen by the roll of the die.

It is a social and memory recall game that is designed to foster interaction and cognitive development. Its is suitable for 8yrs and up. This has been a particularly successful educational board game for both classroom and home.

Brainbox can be used with whole families and the pace is set by the players. Subjects covered include Geography, Australian Facts, Maths, A First Pictures Brainbox for 6yrs and under, and Nature.

We recommend Brainbox as suitable for Home school environments. Brainbox doesn’t bog you down with loads of rules and strategies. It’s straight cognitive development. Brainbox takes very little preparation, the game is quick and the questions offer plenty of variety on a number of educational subjects.

2. Akumulate

Akumulate is an Australian designed educational board game for kids after the manner of Scrabble. It was designed by world renowned Educational Guru, Dr. Wood and the Mind Challenge Centre.

AKumulate helps develop numerical and spatial thinking by intersecting numbers with space. Players must master the space to control the numbers and they must do it by correct (though basic) mathematics.

This educational board game requires some patience to grasp the rules and would be suitable for 10yrs and up. It is not a fast game but a game of methodical thinking and constant add, subtract, multiply and divide.

Conscious of the difficulty of getting kids to enjoy maths, Dr. Wood’s Akumulate is attention grabbing with its strong blue and red colours. The Akumulate pieces are enjoyable to play with and are generally good quality.

The only downside to this game is that it really will only ever do one thing and, if at the end of the day, you don’t enjoy numbers, it is not likely to hold your attention. However, as a teaching tool it does work and if you love numbers, you will flourish in this educational board game.

3. Mount Kilajava

Mount Kilajava is a Fair Trade Coffee Board Game from the people of Monsoon Games in New Zealand. Though the board game itself is new and not well known, the ethos behind it is growing in popularity amongst educators who use board games with Kids. That ethos is about the promotion of Fair Trade and equitable resources.

Mt. Kilajava put the young player in the hot seat as a farmer who must deal with economics, bad weather and intelligent trade in order to prosper. As an Educational Board game for Kids it has limited use in the classroom but that limited use is not to be mistaken for no use.

Despite the fact that it is only a two player game it is very social and a good way of developing bonds between classmates or family members and understanding the nature of primary production.

Mt Kilajava makes an important point; that for farmers in the developing world growing coffee is a very precarious occupation, and slumps in world coffee prices can and do have a catastrophic effect on the lives of millions of growers who are reliant on coffee for their income.

4. Sorts for Kids

Sorts for Kids recently won the Prestigious Children’s Game of the Year. As an Educational Board Game for Kids, Sorts has been very successful in introducing the concept of “putting things in order”.

Sorts for Kids plays on the fascination of organising and categorising any one of a hundred subjects. It makes requests of Kids like,

“Sort these things by their height – from shortest to tallest: school desk, golf buggy, adult lion, shopping trolley.”

The beauty is the simplicity of the game play and the fact that the game can cater for a larger number of players. The Educational value of this Kids Board game is its development and discrimination of objects in the world around them.

Sorts helps develop discernment and levels of categorisation that will be developed throughout their education and is also a lot of fun. One really fun part of Sorts for Kids is the “Line Up”. When players pick a line-up card they must line themselves up according to all manner of interesting criteria.

5. Peoples of the Planet

Peoples of the Planet is a culture and History based Educational Board Game for Kids and comes from France. It has won two prestigious awards: The Corporate Anti-Racism Award; and the Dr Toy, Most Socially Responsible Game Award.

As a great world explorer, the players travel back in time visiting the most interesting peoples and places in History. The goal of Peoples of the Planet is to collect Exploration Cards from each of the nine time periods of History to make up their Great Book of Ages.

It’s age range is generally 10yrs and above and it can accommodate up to five players. This is a particularly useful educational Board Game for Kids in small group settings such as Home school or library groups.

These Picks for 2010 are only a very small handful of the good quality Educational Board Games fro Kids that are now available. Not all are suitable for every environment.

Whenever you are selecting Educational Board Games you need to consider, not only the age and ability of the Children you are trying to educate but also your goal.

Enjoy Your teaching and Your Learning with Board Games!

Book Review: the Life of Daniel Boone by Lyman C. Draper, Edited by Ted Franklin Belue

Book Review: the Life of Daniel Boone by Lyman C. Draper, Edited by Ted Franklin Belue

THE LIFE OF DANIEL BOONE, published by Stackpole Books, 1998, is a unique book about an eighteenth century explorer, written by a nineteenth century biographer, and edited by a twentieth century author. How does it come off? Not too bad! In fact, this is probably the most authoritative account of the renowned frontiersman we will ever see.

I have a special interest in the subject. Daniel Boone is my great, great, great, great grandfather. No, I won’t bore you with my own genealogy. Suffice it to say, I descended through Jesse Bryan Boone, Daniel’s eighth child, who died the same year as Daniel — 1820.

Including notes and index, THE LIFE OF DANIEL BOONE is a large volume totaling 596 pages. And those pages are loaded with rather small print plus drawings and maps. But don’t let that discourage you from taking a peek at this one of a kind work.

If you would like a quick summary of the book, read the Preface. In eighteen pages, Belue appraises the character of Daniel Boone, what he did, and what he thought of his own fame. We discover Boone was a skilled woodsman, hunter, trapper, explorer, scout, militia commander, judge, and county representative. And he was a natural leader.

In his introduction, Ted Belue describes him as: “charismatic, quiet, even-tempered, and rarely willing to utter criticism even of those who opposed him. Boone’s genteel ways were the sort that universally garner respect and attract.” That plus his lack of guile and a sense of honor earned Daniel Boone a solid reputation.

But what did he think of himself? Belue quotes Boone’s own words: “Many heroic exploits and chivalrous adventures are related to me which exist only in the regions of fancy. With me the world has taken great liberties, and yet I have been but a common man. It is true that I have suffered many hardships and miraculously escaped many perils, but others of my companions have experienced the same.”

Daniel Boone was modest. He comes across as a good man, one we would like to have on our side in a crisis.

Next we turn to the chronicler of information on Boone and his times. The self-appointed biographer, Dr. Lyman C. Draper, born September 4, 1815, showed exceptional insight for his day. Nineteenth century storytellers had no qualms at all mixing fantasy with truth. If it spiced up the story, a good myth even seemed preferred over mundane facts.

Against this concoction of history and legend stood Draper with his grand vision of saving facts from oblivion. While the evidence was still available, and the people who remembered the events were still living, he wanted to separate fact from myth, correct misconceptions, and get as close as possible to the truth about frontier history.

In his youth, Draper selected twenty subjects to save from mythology. Besides Daniel Boone, other subjects meriting Draper’s attention included George Clark, Anthony Wayne, Daniel Morgan, and Dunmore’s War.

From 1843 to 1852, Draper traveled the trails Boone had explored, seeking interviews and gathering data on the frontiersman. But the project never turned into a book. He died in 1891 lamenting he had not finished the “Life of Daniel Boone.” Since 1854, Draper’s manuscript remained in the archives of the State National Society of Wisconsin.

In 1990, historian Ted Franklin Belue decided that Draper’s huge manuscript, rich in details of Boone and frontier life, should be available to the public. Thus the book began.

Belue presents Draper’s work much as it was left by the biographer nearly one and a half centuries earlier. Belue’s changes to Draper’s transcript were minor. He eliminated excess commas and made military titles and abbreviations consistent with modern usage.

Belue wrote the introduction and provided us with a series of notes at the end of each chapter following Draper’s original notes. The editor concluded his introduction by reminding us that what we are holding in our hands had been hidden away since 1854. “Read it. Savor it. Take time to get to know Lyman Draper, his methods, his point of view, the tenor of his times, and his man, Daniel Boone.”

Good advice. But to that I might add, there are three men in this book who are best understood in the context of their times: Boone, Draper, and Belue. Of the three, Boone is by far the most straightforward. Simply put, he was an adventurer who couldn’t rest until he saw what lay beyond the next hill. His life was an ongoing search for Eden, an unspoiled hunter’s paradise.

In Kentucky, he found much of what he was seeking. But civilization, which he himself helped usher in, quickly ruined what he considered most appealing. So off he went in search of a new unblemished wilderness.

The real Daniel Boone was a man of courage, skill, and good fortune who nevertheless suffered much over his 85 years. He was no Fess Parker. He wasn’t a big man. He killed few Indians and despised those who attempted to portray him as a fearless Indian-killer.

Occasionally we are struck with the quaintness of the times. Sentimentality, not “cool,” was the predominant mood of the eighteenth century. Here’s a prime example. When Boone led a party of men from Boonesborough, they managed to rescue his own daughter, Jemima, and two other girls from a combined force of Shawanoes and Cherokees.

How did Boone propose to celebrate the event? He said: “Thank Almighty Providence, boys, we have the girls safe — let us all sit down and have a hearty cry.” And they did! That direct quote somehow never made the Daniel Boone TV series.

Now let’s consider the compiler of information, Dr. Draper. What should I say about this mother lode of facts and opinions, and what should I leave for you to discover for yourself? I will limit myself to three observations.

Draper’s style will certainly catch your attention. A few pages of Draper comes across as quaint and charming. Then again, several hundred pages of him is downright tedious. For modern tastes, it’s a bit too much: too wordy, too flowery, and too sentimental. But wasn’t that typical for the period? Yes, I believe it was.

Draper reflected his time in other ways too. The mood of the mid-nineteenth century was a positive one. They were as assured of themselves, their culture, and their values as we are uncertain of ours in the early twenty-first century

.

Dr. Draper championed Manifest Destiny. Anglo-Americans were marching westward taking their civilization in tow. At times Draper seems to be more of a cheerleader than a historian. But, as Belue points out, Draper never had a historian’s perspective. He couldn’t distinguish the trivial from the significant. So his notes are full of minute details of no particular interest.

Despite all of his faults, Draper preserved much of historical interest which would be lost without his efforts. That is his real contribution. Unfortunately, he never did get around to exploring Daniel Boone’s latter years. This entire volume is dedicated to the first half of Boone’s life.

Belue, unlike Draper, is a historian. By and large, he displays the objectivity and evenhandedness that Draper lacked in his manuscript. But is one major respect Belue reveals that he too is a man of his day.

The term “American Indians” has now been changed to the politically correct term “Native Americans.” Belue is numbered among those who believe what Caucasians did to Native Americans was morally reprehensible. What Belue espouses is, in effect a moralistic view of history.

Our question for Mr. Belue is: How did those Indians tribes obtain their lands? Well, they acquired them by driving off, killing, or assimilating other tribes who had the land before them, as they had in turn done to those who preceded them.

The history of Britain was no different. Picts lost their land to the Celts, who in turn were driven away by Anglo-Saxons, who in turn were conquered by the Normans. Larger tribes, more aggressive people displaced others and took their territory. What Anglo-Americans did to Native Americans is what mankind has been doing to each other throughout recorded history — no more, no less.

Draper’s manuscript details deceptions and atrocities committed by both sides, as well as acts of friendship and good will offered by both. Here Draper appears to be objective. Belue agrees.

A couple of centuries after the events, it is easy for us to lob criticism at the frontier settlers. After all, they won, didn’t they? But what were those eighteenth century settlers really like? What were the eighteenth century Indians like? This book, the most authoritative document we have for this period, opens our eyes to the timbre of the day. Before condemning the settlers, perhaps we should ask ourselves: if you and I were in constant peril, how altruistic would we be?

The LIFE OF DANIEL BOONE is a book worth reading. This volume is our passport back to the eighteenth century frontier America. It’s a time of great beauty and danger, unbelievable opportunity and hardship, plus numerous acts of courage, savagery, and cowardice. It is an exciting period. See for yourself.

Petrol Generator Review

Petrol Generators

Petrol Generator Review

Which Generator Will Be Best For Your Requirements?
by Katija Trbovich

There are many options for the home owner and business operator when the time comes to choose a generator: so many, in fact, that it can be quite problematic to the uninitiated. What type of fuel would you rather use – diesel or petrol? Is your requirement for a small “emergency” generator for the home, or one with plenty of power to act as a back up when the mains electricity fails in your business? If you don’t have enough knowledge of how generators work, it could be very hard for you to choose the best one for your needs.

How then, do you make this necessary choice? Firstly, you should decide for what actual reason you will need the generator, as this is a good method of determining the capacity. If you require a generator for home use, it would not make sense to choose a heavy duty industrial generator, as it would provide much more power than you need. Similarly, if you need to run machinery, a small generator will not be powerful enough as it is likely to fail when you need it most.

Both diesel and petrol generators are similar in how they deliver power. Diesel electrical generators are usually found in agricultural environments, on construction sites and in factories and warehouses: in fact, just about any place there is a requirement for a portable and reliable source of energy. This can be due to the fact that there is no mains power (as with building sites) or the mains power cannot be relied upon (agricultural areas and factories).

When you are working out your generator requirements, you should choose the most efficient model. The size of the portable generators is indicated by the output and speed given by the manufacturer: usually, a more powerful generator has a higher output and speed. The majority of generators range between an output of 5KVA (kilovolt-ampere units) and 2500KVA. The lower KVA generators can be used in the home, whereas the higher ones provide more than enough power for most industrial applications.

The efficiency of the model is the initial step: however, it is also necessary to calculate the load you have to supply. To do this, you simply have to calculate the power demand, whether this be in the home or the business, during normal operating conditions. The degree of power that the generator is able to provide will indicate whether it is sufficient to meet the needs of your home or business: the the amount of fuel the tank holds only determines how long the generator will operate between refueling. It is always a good idea to choose a generator that can provide a little more power than you need, thus minimising the chances of overloading.

Something else you may need to give some thought to is the noise level of the buy honda generator. Does the generator need to be run during the night in the home? If so, it is a good idea to choose a silent diesel generator as the decibel output of these is much much reduced when compared to traditional diesel generators. It is also sensible to choose a silent diesel generator with a decent sized fuel tank, to make sure that it runs overnight, thereby avoiding refueling in the middle of the night. The noise output is not such a problem if it is used in an industrial situation, or during the day.

If the generator is to be used only occasionally, it makes sense to look for a good quality used generator, as this will save you a significant amount of money.

Having a generator available for emergency situations, such as natural disasters or power outages, or even when there is no actual mains electricity (camping is one such example) is good idea. However, it pays to do your research and carefully choose a generator that will work best when considering your individual needs.

Brother LS2125i Sewing Machine Review

The Brother LS2125i sewing machine is very simple machine great for those regular mending tasks, light home projects, or for those just starting to learn to sew – especially kids. It’s the perfect starter machine for under 0.

It’s portable, electric and has a built in handle tucked in the back for easy movement. The machine is white with light and medium blue trim.

Brother LS2125i Stitch Patterns
There are 10 built-in stitches that accommodate all basic mending and clothes construction work: a four-step automatic buttonhole, 3 styles of zigzag stitches, a zigzag satin stitch, straight stitch, stretch blind hem, shell tuck, and an elastic stitch.

There are lots of more expensive machines for those who want to get into crafting, take up embroidery sewing, or design entire wardrobe collections but this machine is for those who need to do the occasional repair, make a child’s play or Halloween costume, or complete some home decorating projects like curtains, tablecloths, and placemats.

Brother LS2125i Presser Feet
Four snap-on style presser feet come with this machine: Zigzag, Buttonhole, Zipper, and the Button Sewing foot. Changing presser feet is easy and does not require the use of any special tools.

These are standard, low-shank presser feet most used for mending and making clothes. They make it easier to create buttonholes, attach zippers and even sew buttons onto fabric.

Brother LS2125i Sewing Machine Features
The extension arm of this machine slips off so that you can perform free-arm sewing to finish off cuffs or hem pant legs. A reverse lever also located on the front of the machine is used to lock completed stitches in place. It is suitable for light, manual embroidering, monogramming and applique stitches and handles light and medium weight fabrics.

There is a built in work lamp, a bag for accessories which is stored in a compartment within the extension arm itself, and the machine is compatible with a twin needle for decorative sewing. A buttonhole fine-adjusting screw allows you to tighten or loosen the buttonhole stitch to cover a multitude of buttonhole options from small, cuff buttonholes to larger button openings. Extra bobbins, needles, a darning plate, twin needle and screwdriver come in the accessory bag.

Beginners find the Brother LS2125i so easy to learn that they are sewing within minutes. Even young children find the easy controls and good-sized knobs and levers a breeze to use. Experienced sewers who just want a simple backup sewing machine for simple tasks would find this useful. Sometimes it is easier to have a second machine on hand rather than have to set up a full-sized home sewing or embroidery machine for a simple sewing task.
